The Urban Leases Law (LAU) changes again

The latest Royal Decree-Law from the Government comes into effect this Friday, March 8

Below, we present some changes that we consider important for you:

• The minimum rental duration will increase from three to five years. Therefore, if the tenant so wishes, they may remain in the leased property during this period.
• Regarding the security deposit: the landlord’s freedom to require it has been limited to a maximum of two monthly payments.
