Interview with Antonio Avilés, CEO of Mikeli Real Estate

INTERVIEW WITH ANTONIO AVILÉS, CEO OF MIKELI

“At the Hawaii convention organised by Luxury Real Estate, we have witnessed the future of our professional sector”.

The “Fifteenth Annual Spring Retreat” convention, organised by Luxury Real Estate at the Fairmont Kea Lani Hotel in Maui (Hawaii, USA), has once again proven to be a landmark event for the luxury real estate sector. Cantabria was represented by MIKELI, with attendance from Antonio Avilés (CEO of MIKELI) and Galia Fuentes (Office Director).

Journalist (J): Upon your return to the “tierruca” (homeland), we spoke with Antonio Avilés to reflect on the experience. What are the main highlights of this significant convention?

Antonio Avilés, CEO of MiKeli (A): Without a doubt, the standard, luxury, and quality of the organisation, as well as the extraordinary professional calibre of the attendees and speakers. Everyone was magnificent.

-(J): What does it mean to participate in an event of such international prestige?

-(A): It marks a professional “before and after.” Attending these conferences means attending “the future.” They cover all kinds of key topics: technology, methods, and more. Ultimately, the aspects presented there feel futuristic compared to what we see here. It is a true journey into the tomorrow of our sector.

-(J): And you establish contacts at the highest level…

-(A): Of course. We have maintained business relationships with the most prestigious real estate professionals in the world. In turn, they are beginning to learn what MIKELI is. They now know it is located in a city in northern Spain called Santander. In fact, we have returned with referrals and invitations to visit associates with offices in Rome, New Zealand, the USA, Canada, the UK, France, Singapore, Germany, Mexico, Australia… and from firms as prominent as Sotheby’s and Christie’s. We have built bridges of collaboration with all of them, allowing us to offer MIKELI’s clients the ability to buy or sell any property anywhere in the world and vice-versa. We have firmly established ourselves within globalisation.

-(J): What lasting impact does this major professional trip to Hawaii leave?

-(A): The incredibly high level of commitment to Luxury Real Estate shown by all attendees. This commitment has a clear objective: to increase our commercial relationships. They are true professionals with a real vocation for their work.

Their enthusiasm and professionalism stem from the significant difference in the concept of the real estate sector between Spain and the USA, for example. There, a real estate agent is one by vocation—deciding their professional future during their student years—and by training, with four years of specific studies. The combination of both factors creates a peak level of recognition and social status.

We thank Antonio Avilés, CEO of MIKELI, for his statements. All the knowledge acquired by him and Galia Fuentes at the “Fifteenth Annual Spring Retreat” in Hawaii will have a direct, immediate, and positive impact on MIKELI’s clients. We continue to move forward, with our sights set firmly on the future.
