Extraordinary 17th-century Palatial Mansion for sale in Cantabria.

A unique property that houses great histories.

We are presented with a 17th-century palatial mansion, steeped in history in every single corner. It was constructed using ashlar stone and masonry. It has been meticulously restored to respect the authenticity of every element and the characteristic architecture of the area.

It is located just four kilometres from the centre of Potes, in the municipality of Cabezón de Liébana—specifically in the village of Perrozo.

The property possesses a built area of approximately 950 square metres. The mansion is surrounded by a spectacular estate spanning 20,000 square metres. Encompassed by fields, forests, and mountains, you will truly feel nature with every breath.

Astonishing views.

The views of the Picos de Europa are astonishing and extraordinary. Contemplating such a landscape from the bedrooms, from a wide and wonderful balcony on the third floor, or even from the swimming pool… is a true privilege.

This 17th-century palatial mansion is built with noble materials typical of Cantabrian constructions of the period, such as stone and oak wood. We can appreciate the art in every detail of this historic place, such as its hand-carved doors, which are pure craftsmanship.

Its layout comprises several lounges, dining rooms, spacious bedrooms, full bathrooms, kitchens, airy living areas, games rooms, large balconies to enjoy the views from a height, porches, a fantastic and sunny swimming pool, a parking area and, of course, the extensive grounds that surround it.

Several fireplaces are distributed throughout different rooms of the mansion. Furthermore, it features a heating fireplace system that runs on pellets and distributes water through radiators throughout the entire property.

Adjacent to the main property is a small apartment, also with heating. Perfect for your guests, it offers total independence as it features a kitchen, two bedrooms, a full bathroom, and an open-plan attic.

Next, we want to point out some of the most significant historical data that this small palace holds:

  • The ancestors of the current owner rented the palatial mansion in the 19th century to the Civil Guard, along with its adjoining stables. The area that currently serves as a games room was, at that time, a small jail where prisoners were held.
  • This was the home of the famous musical group Los Pekenikes, founded in 1959, whose members are the brothers of the current owner. For this reason, the mansion became a meeting place for many artists, including Junior and Juan Pardo, who were vocalists for the group in their day. Julio Iglesias was also a guest here.
  • “In my home, we had the honour of receiving General Perón, the President of Argentina. He was a very close friend of my father and a partner in many games of dominoes,” the owner tells us.

Finally, it is worth noting that the property features bespoke accessibility adaptations. While the layout does not allow for full access to every single room, the vast majority of the living spaces remain easily accessible.
